At Empower FCU, businesses of all sizes can find the tools and resources they need to grow and succeed - everything from just-right checking options to revenue-producing deposit accounts to affordable financing opportunities. Becoming a business member is easy, though you will have to meet our eligibility requirements and supply documentation.
Eligibility Requirements
- All business owners must be personally eligible for membership.
- If any business owners have personal memberships, they must be in good standing.
- New York State law prohibits local governments from depositing public funds with Credit Unions.
- We do not offer memberships to Internet gambling businesses, money services businesses or marijuana-related businesses.
Required Documentation
- For New York State entities: Locate your business entity type below and click the link to view required documentation to open a business membership.
- For entities formed in other states: Please call 315.477.2200 or 1.800.462.5000.
- Memberships will not be opened until all required documentation is provided. Memberships will not be opened for entities that are inactive or dissolved.

- Certificate of Incorporation w/NYS filing receipt
- Certified Certificate of Assumed Name or NYS filing receipt for the Certificate of Assumed Name (if operating under an assumed name)
- Certified Certificate of Incorporation
- Certified Regents Charter or certified Regents Certificate of Incorporation
Limited Liability Company & Professional Limited Liability Company
- Articles of Organization with New York State filing receipt
- Operating agreement signed by all members of the LLC
- Certified Certificate of Assumed Name or New York State filing receipt for the Certificate of Assumed Name (if operating under an assumed name)
Limited Liability Partnership
General Partnership
- Certificate of Registration with New York State filing receipt
- Partnership agreement signed by all partners in the partnership
- Certified Certificate of Assumed Name (if operating under an assumed name)
- Certificate of Limited Partnership w/New York State filing receipt
- Partnership agreement signed by all partners in the partnership
- Certified Certificate of Assumed Name or New York State filing receipt for the Certificate of Assumed Name (if operating under an assumed name)
General Partnership
