Dollar Dog Youth Education
Teaching young people how to handle money is one of our pet projects.
Financial matters aren't all fun and games. But when you're young and just learning about money, our Dollar Dog mascot turns them into an important part of the process. At Empower FCU, we offer age-appropriate accounts, activities, and events to help youthful savers get started. And as they turn into teens, we graduate them to more grown-up ways of handling money.
For Children Under 12
- Minimum $1 deposit to open a Share Savings account
- Deposits earn competitive interest
- Open a Share Savings Certificate with at least $100 and add $50 or more to the certificate anytime
- Read the Fun Zone newsletter with financial education presented in a kid-friendly way
- Take part in events and contests held throughout the year
Events
Strong Foundation for Teens
- Open a Share Savings account with a $1 deposit and watch your money grow with our dividends payments
- Open a Share Savings Certificate with at least $100 and add $50 or more to the certificate anytime
- Manage your money with a checking account, Online Banking and our mobile app
- Get an Empower Credit Card with a co-applicant at least 21 years of age
- Prepare for college with student loans, scholarships and 529 savings plan options
